We have a role open for a Manufacturing Engineer ( Industrial Engineer/Continuous Improvement Engineer) for our industrial/manufacturing facility in Orange County, Ideally a strong, Continuous Improvement specialist with a background working with products and project for the Aerospace and DOD/Defense related applications and product manufacturing.

In this role you will perform as a Hands-On Engineering specialist, and as a project Lead, identifying and implementing manufacturing process improvements in our key lines, all while ensuring product quality, and optimizing production efficiency throughout.

Some of the DAY TO DAY tasks include

  • Leading process improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste via the design, refining and implementation of efficient manufacturing work-cells.
  • Identify opportunities for preventing waste and inefficiency during production
  • Research and test design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing lean manufacturing, kaizen, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis to formulate and support innovation, corrective actions, and improvements
  • Design and develop robust manufacturing concepts to simplify and improve processes and ensure best practices
  • Conduct quality improvement projects to ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement strategies to streamline operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize work cells for maximum productivity.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of PPAP documentation and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor and control the manufacturing processes effectively.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff and operators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process engineering roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • STRONG/Priority consideration will be given to those with experience working with industry standards like IPC 610, IPC 620, and J-STD 001.
  • Those with previous experience/expertise in the fabrication and installation of wire harnesses and LRUs are highly sought for this role.
  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing processes and compliance with DoD and Navy requirements.
  • Familiarity with wire harness and cable harness manufacturing processes is a HUGE PLUS/Advantage.
  • Proficiency in ERP and MRP systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
