REMOTE Sr. Data Processing Engineer - Execution Engine

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Data Processing Engineer with expertise in Execution Engines to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing and optimizing our data processing capabilities, ensuring high performance and scalability of our execution engine. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement efficient data processing solutions that meet our business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop high-performance execution engines for data processing.
Optimize existing data processing workflows to improve efficiency and reduce latency.
Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to implement complex data processing algorithms.
Utilize languages such as C, C++, and Rust to build scalable solutions.
Implement and maintain data processing frameworks using Apache Spark, Gluten, Velox, and DataFusion.
Develop and optimize data processing tasks involving joins, aggregations, and sorts.
Conduct performance tuning and benchmarking of data processing systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 - 10+ years of experience in data processing engineering or related roles.
Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Rust.
Proficiency in Linux operating systems and development environments.
Experience with Apache Spark and modern data processing frameworks such as Gluten, Velox, and DataFusion.
Solid understanding of data processing concepts including joins, aggregations, and sorts.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
