Cost Accountant
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The primary purpose of this role is to analyze and manage the costs associated with our manufacturing processes, ensuring accurate cost allocation and financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports to communicate cost performance to management
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, ensuring accurate tracking of costs related to production
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Prepare standard cost estimates for new products and assess variances from actual costs
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights on potential variances
- Support financial audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis of cost accounts
- Monitor inventory levels and perform periodic inventory valuations
- Implement and maintain cost control procedures and policies.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or similar role
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
