Position Overview:
We are looking for a well-organized, seasoned person to work as a construction bookkeeper for our business. The chosen applicant will have worked as a bookkeeper in the construction sector for at least three years. The incumbent will support our team in accurately recording job expenses and all financial activities, including field payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works with our Project Managers to invoice the work at hand, adjusting to each Client's invoicing requirements
- Provides detailed financial reporting to ensure that costs and budget of construction projects are accurately recorded
- Performs extensive data entry to ensure all financial data is input into our accounting system
- Updates and maintains accurate financial records, contracts, tax reports, Process Accounts Payable invoices, and research payments due to Subcontractors, payment percentages, reviews contract amounts, and previous payments issued
- Receives Client checks, allocates the payments received and ensures that proper tracking and recording is performed and resolves any invoicing issues
- Safeguards the accuracy of the General ledger and journal entries, prepares balance sheets, and financial reports through our accounting system
- Will be assigned Project Managers to support with typing and recording their Proposals/Budgets
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience with
bookkeeping in the construction industry - 3+ years of experience in accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience in the construction industry
- Exceptional organization, analytical, problem solving, and communications skills are extremely important
- Familiarity with construction accounting concepts, and best practices
- Proficient with Microsoft Software, Excel, Word
